While the winds of SIHH 2017 are still blowing around the watch industry, Pre-Basel 2017 novelties started to be announced one after another. MesiterSinger, one of the most popular manufacturers of regulator-style watches, was offering its relatively compact Neo Series with 36mm diameter cases for a long time. Due to its thinner and smaller dimensions, Neo Series was mostly preferred by users with smaller wrists. Recently, the brand announced that there will be a 40mm diameter version which is scheduled to be officially introduced at Baselworld 2017.

MeisterSinger Neo Plus comes with a stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter. Thanks to its elegant design, the bezel is extremely thin which makes the timepiece look even bigger than 40mm. Like the 36mm version, Neo Plus sports and acrylic crystal at the front side.

The dial is designed pretty faithful to the original 36mm version and comes in 5 different color options. With its Sans Serif Helvetica font and the single-arm lay-out, the dial looks quite minimalistic and elegant. The date window, the only extra feature of the model, is located at 6 o’clock position.

Referring to the technical information about the new series, Neo Plus timepieces come with either ETA 2824-2 or Sellita SW200-1 calibers. These two movements, which have similar characteristics in terms of structure and durability, can be seen especially on many entry-level Swiss automatics. MeisterSinger, who indicated both mechanisms in the specifications section, seems likely to continue on his way with the Sellita SW200-1 movements after finishing its stock of ETA 2824-2 calibers. Both movements beat at 4 Hz and offer a power reserve of 38 hours when fully wound.

All models in the new series come with leather straps that match the dial color and stainless steel buckles.
