MontBlanc is celebrating 110 years of precise master craftsmanship via the launch of a limited edition timepiece, The Montblanc Collection Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary Limited Edition.
The new watch sports an in-house one-minute Tourbillon, a double cylindrical balance spring, the maison’s Heures Myste´rieuses display and an stunning snake pattern housed in one contemporary design.
The Montblanc Collection Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary Limited Edition reference’s the brand’s heritage by paying tribute to the design theme of the Maison’s first fountain pen series, the “Rouge et Noir” series. These cult writing instruments featuring serpent motif clips, were the inspiration to this year’s newest Heritage Rouge & Noir Collection.
In order to match with the common belief for the serpent being the symbol for life and rebirth in many cultures, the Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary features a three-dimensional, hand-engraved, anthracite serpent which has been integrated into the bezel. A similar design also can be found on the back of the 52mm diameter 18K rose gold case, which sports a delicate hand-engraving of the famous serpent.
There is also a big Tourbillon escapement measuring 8.4mm in diameter, occupies the upper half of the watch’s dial, while a sub dial of the same dimension at 6 o’clock position shows the time display below. A set of regate-shaped hands appear to float mysteriously above the sub dial, which display roman numerals and rhomboid indexes on a mirrored surface.
The Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary is limited to three pieces.
