The refined Neomatik calibers of Nomos Glashütte, with their innovations, skillful craftsmanship and technical features, set a new standard in sports watches.
The German brand Nomos Glashütte calls the new series of its automatic movements Neomatik. The brand has two automatic calibers including one with date feature (DUW 6101 and DUW 3001). Nomos Glashütte has been able to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the movements by halving the operating tolerances thanks to contemporary research and production techniques.
Considering that the date movement has a height of 3.6mm and the other has a height of 3.2mm, we can say that both movements are quite thin. Having in mind that almost all of the serial production automatic watches feature the same principals with the ones offered in the early 70s, we would be safe to call these new movements “next generation”.
Nomos’s 10th (2015) and 11th (2018) movements were highly acclaimed right after their introduction and formed the basis for a new market segment. The team developed the brand’s Swing System, the pacemaker of the Nomos movements in 2014, and worked for three years to develop the DUW 3001, which is then followed by another caliber with a date function. Both movements were designed completely independent of each other.
The new Neomatik collection has a total of 37 different references. Thanks to their new movements, these timepieces offer the elegance that is expected from hand-wound watches. The new Tangente Sport and Club Sport models introduced at the 2019 Baselworld trade show offer utmost wrist-comfort while protecting the movement inside with greater resistance to shocks, impacts and water pressure.
