Panerai's latest gift to the world of bronze watches, PAM01074, is getting ready to change the game with its 42mm Submersible case.
Bronze is perhaps one of the materials that reflect the Panerai spirit in the most accurate way. Honestly, I cannot think of a metal that is more compatible with the maritime roots of the brand. We have to admit that a Submersible that has patinated over time can manage to attract the attention of anyone, irrespectively of being interested in watches or not.
This year's bronze novelty of Panerai, a first in the history of the brand, comes with a 42mm diameter case. With a reasonable case thickness of 14.37mm, the new Submersible Bronzo may be the right choice for watch enthusiasts who could not pull the trigger regarding the past models due to their larger size. The case features sapphire crystals on both sides and is water-resistant to 300 meters, befitting a decent diving watch.
Panerai Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso, as the name suggests, features a dial color inspired by the deep blue. Remember, not all bronze watches are the same. Due to the metals in the alloy used, bronze cases of different manufacturers take on different tones both at the beginning and in the following stages. My personal favorite in this segment is the Panerai Submersible Bronzo family with a hue that resembles pink gold.
The new model is powered by the Caliber P.9010, developed and manufactured by Panerai. 23-jewels automatic movement consists of 171 parts, beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), and offers 3 days / 72 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
PAM01074, where blue leather and rubber strap options are offered in the same box, will be sold only through Panerai boutiques and 1000 lucky people will be able to own this special model every year.
