The De Ville model family is one of the important product groups of the well-established brand Omega. Designed in the concept of a classic dress watch, the collection expresses the brand's DNA. It is also among the most preferred options by watch enthusiasts who still do not give up on classic designs today, where sports models are predominantly preferred.
The version (Ref. 435.13.40.22.01.001) that we opted for the review from the De Ville model family, which hosts several variants, also gives the green light to casual use with its black theme.
The model comes with a 40mm diameter and 10.07mm thick case, which can be considered large even today for a classic dress watch. The case, with sapphire crystals on both sides, offers a strong and even sporty presence, with the help of its smooth bezel and thick lugs.
The version we chose for the review hosts a stylish dial with rhodium-plated elongated indexes and hands on a black background. The small seconds counter, one of the essential details of classic dress watches, takes its place at 6 o'clock. The power reserve indicator, which is a must for hand-wound models, is located at 12 o'clock. The elegant Omega emblem at 3 o'clock and the Co-Axial Master Chronometer lettering at 9 o'clock complete the symmetry created by the vertically lined-up sub-dials. The absence of a date window also contributes to the integrity of the simple yet legible dial.
Omega De Ville Trésor Power Reserve works with Caliber 8935. Today, when the number of modern hand-wound examples is decreasing, the elegant movement that makes vintage enthusiasts smile provides a power reserve time of up to 72 hours when fully wound. The nicely finished caliber that carries the Master Chronometer certification is enjoyed through the sapphire crystal case back.
