Omega, which introduced a number of novelties from different collections, especially the Speedmaster, during Baselworld 2017, released new models of its highly acclaimed Aquaterra Collection as well. Offered in stainless steel and Bi-Color case options with a variety of dial colors, the new collection was also appreciated with its high-tech innovations. The model Ref. 220.10.41.21.01.001 from the Aquaterra Collection is under the spotlight.

I think the potential customer profile of the Aquaterra Collection is very clear.  You want to buy a watch that is manufactured in Omega quality and standards, and you are determined keep this watch on your wrist 24/7. It’ll be your company at the seaside during summer and it will also fit your dress while you are heading for a business meeting. Well, Omega Aquaterra 150M is what you are looking for.

Let’s talk a little bit about what makes this watch ideal for 7/24 use. The first is of course the 41mm case diameter and the thickness that can fit under the sleeve cuff. The 41mm case diameter is at an optimal point for a model that aims at versatile use when considering today’s men’s watch standards. If you really want to use a watch for 365 days a year, the 40-41mm case diameter is ideal for this task.

The water resistance value of 150 meters is another asset of this watch. Thanks to the screw-lock winding crown, the model can be used comfortably at sea and in the pool. I think waterproofness is another optimum feature of the Aquaterra model. If Omega would try to offer a value over 150 meters, I’m sure the watch would increase in thickness. On the other hand, the waterproofing value below 100 meters would not be safe with water for a sports watch. The waterproofness value, as well as the case diameter and thickness, is kept at the optimum level that could be in this sense.

The version we have here for review offers strong versatility with almost every outfit in any environment with its black dial. Especially in the stainless steel version with a fairly simple appearance, the blind pattern used in the dial of the model added a dynamic feel to the watch. Of course, the Aquaterra Collection classic arrow type hand set is present in this model as well. The dial has a date window at 6 points and is presented with a background that will match the dial color in every variation.

The model is powered with the METAS certificated Co-Axial Caliber Ref. 8900. Self-winding movement offers 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound and magnetically shielded for 15000 Gauss. The movement is equipped with a silicon balance spring and it is visible through the sapphire crystal display caseback.

The model we bought under the spotlight can be purchased with metal bracelet or silicone cord. We have the stainless steel bracelet version here. The bracelet, which features polished and brushed links together, comes with a double sided folding clasp system.

If you are looking for a watch that you can use with just about any outfit in any environment, the Omega Aquaterra 150M is an excellent choice for you. While we cannot define it as a solely classic dress or diver’s watch, it is ready to offer you best of both worlds in a fairly balanced composition. The model family has a variety of versions which you can find in what suits you best.
