Omega announced the new model added to its Planet Ocean collection, a modern product group in the diver's watch segment. Continuing the professional theme of the collection, the new model made an impression with its single-tone color palette.
The new model comes with a modern Planet Ocean-style case designed with a diameter of 45.5mm and dimensions of 17.4mm. The Si3N4 (silicon nitride ceramic) case, specific to the model, offers both a tactical and sporty appearance with its dark gray color tone. The front of the case, which offers excellent resistance to the wearing effects of time as well as its lightness, has a unidirectional rotatable diver bezel, also made of Si3N4 material. The 600M water pressure resistant case, where the locking crown and helium outlet valve are made of titanium, has sapphire crystal glass on the front and a sapphire crystal display cover on the back, equipped with the brand's patented NAIDAD LOCK system.
The characteristic gray color theme of the Si3N4 case is complemented by the micro-sandblasted dial made of Grade 5 titanium alloy. Orange details spread evenly across the dial, where dark gray coated hands and applique markers display the time, take away the monotony of the monochrome color palette, and bring the sporty theme of the model to the fore. The date window with its pure white disc in all this color harmony reminds us that form follows function in the design of the model, albeit with a slight difference.
The new model is powered by the Caliber 8906ti movement, designed and produced in-house by the brand. Based on the Caliber 8906 movement, the new caliber emphasizes the lightness of the model with its matte-finish Grade 5 titanium bridges and body components. Oscillating at a frequency of 3.5Hz, the GMT-equipped and Master Chronometer-certified automatic movement offers a power reserve time of up to 60 hours, thanks to its double barrel architecture.
The final boost to the monotone color palette comes from the rubber strap with gray textile lining and white stitching. The sporty model is fixed to the wrist by a folding clip made of Grade 5 titanium alloy and signed by Omega.
