Oris, which took a fast step into the world of vintage inspired models with its instant hit model Divers Sixty Five, introduced a limited edition version of its Chronoris Collection.
“Chronoris Collection is an important model family for Oris. Debuted in early 1970s as the first chronograph model of the well-established brand, the model is known with its era-signature details. Chronoris Collection, which got back into the brand’s product line with a well-executed re-issue model in line with the never-ending Heritage trend, got a new limited edition version.”
The case of the model is designed in Helmet (or Pilot) style, which has been adopted by many brands during the 1970s. In general, the re-issue models are offered in bigger cases when compared to original versions in order to make them meet today’s standards. However, this is not necessary for the 1970s models as the originals also come in large cases. In line with this fact, Oris designed case of the Chronoris Limited Edition (Ref. 01 673 7739 4034) model with a diameter of 40mm.
The radially brushed and polished case is equipped with an anti-reflective treated scratch resistant domed sapphire crystal on the front side. Thanks to the screw-in solid stainless steel case back, the case is water resistant to 100 meters, which is enough for daily without worrying about water contact.
The new model’s dial is designed with a color palette that is in line with the 1970s era. Finished in matt black like the original version, the dial is adorned with bright orange accents. The lay-out of the dial reminds us the Williams 40th Anniversary model, which was also designed in Bi-Compax chronograph format. The date display is located at 3 o’clock.
Oris Chronoris Limited Edition (Ref. 01 673 7739 4034) is powered by the Caliber Ref. 673, which is based on the well-known Valjoux 7750. Self-winding chronograph movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 48 hours.
This 200-piece limited edition is available either on a perforated brown leather strap, on black rubber or on a steel bracelet. It is also delivered with a special leather pouch and an additional grey NATO strap.
The Oris Chronoris Limited Edition is now available at retailers and official Oris boutiques and is priced at CHF 3,500 on strap and CHF 3,800 on metal bracelet.
