Oris expands its retro diver chronograph Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph model family with a new and more compact version.
The Divers Sixty-Five collection, launched in 2015, is inspired by the model introduced by the successful brand in 1965, equipped with a unidirectional diver bezel and plexiglass. The model family, designed and produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the brand's first diver's watch, constitutes one of Oris' core product groups today. The collection, which serves as a canvas for many models equipped with different case diameters and colors, as well as alternative materials and various complications, continues to expand and develop today with a new version added to the chronograph subgroup that was included in the catalogs in 2018.
The new model comes with a case designed with a diameter of 40mm and a height of 15.4mm, offering a more compact profile compared to previous versions. The case, made of stainless steel, has an aluminum insert diver bezel and domed sapphire crystal on the front. Equipped with a solid case back, screw-down crown, and piston-style chronograph pushers, the retro-inspired case is water resistant up to 100 meters.
Oris Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph 40mm comes with a black dial. The dial, for which we are sure that alternatives in different colors will be added to the collection over time, hosts applique indices and sword-type hands. On the dial with the Bi-Compax chronograph layout, the counters are located at 3 and 9 o'clock. The dial, which does not have any extra features including a date window, has a successful profile in terms of symmetry as well as legibility.
The new model is powered by Oris Caliber 771, based on Sellita SW 510. The automatic Bi-Compax chronograph movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers up to 48 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
