Panerai, which was inspired by Luna Rossa, the Challenger of Record of the event, in the 36th America’s Cup race in 2021, has already started celebrations with three models designed for the occasion.
Panerai celebrated its emotionally charged friendship with the Luna Rossa team, which will compete in America’s Cup, by introducing the Submersible Luna Rossa 47mm at SIHH in Geneva. The Italian brand introduced three new models and strengthened the bond with the team, SIAR (Salón Internacional Alta Relojería) in Mexico City.
The Luminor Luna Rossa Regatta 47mm (PAM01038), the Luminor Rossa Chrono Flyback 44mm (PAM01037), and the Luminor Luna Rossa GMT 44mm (PAM01036) offer watch enthusiasts a unique interpretation of futuristic mechanical artisanship.

The Luminor Luna Rossa Regatta has a 47mm Carbotech case, bezel, and winding crown. All three models feature Panerai’s Safety Lock enclosure. The case is complemented by sapphire crystal at the front. On the back are the Luna Rossa logo, the Luna Rossa AC75 body and the 12-sided case back with DLC coating, which features a drawing of America’s Cup. The case is resistant to water pressure up to 100 meters.
The hour-minute, second sub-dial, flyback chronograph, regatta countdown timer, and second reset feature are powered by the automatic Caliber P.9100 / R. The movement with Glycodur balance and Incabloc impact protection system provides a 3-day power reserve in full installation.
The dark gray, sailcloth patterned sandwich structure of the dial, the large white numbers with green Super-LumiNova and the indexes complement the regatta concept. At 3 o’clock, there is a chronograph hour counter, at 9 o’clock, there is a second sub-dial and at the border, there is a knot scale. On the dial is the “Luna Rossa Challenger 36th America’s Cup”.
Luminor Luna Rossa Regatta 47mm comes on a white-stitched “Ponte Vecchio” black calfskin strap, sanded titanium trapezoid buckle and DLC finish; comes with extra black strap.
The Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono Flyback comes in a 44mm diameter black ceramic case with micro blasting. Bezel and winding crown are also made of the same material. The automatic Caliber P.9100 provides a 3-day power reserve for the hour-minute, second sub-dial, flyback chronograph, and second reset features. Other than having a tachymeter scale on the dial, we can say that it is the same as the Regatta 47mm.
The Luminor Luna Rossa GNT comes in a 44mm case with black DLC coating. The bezel is made of the same material as the case. Winding crown with Safety Lock housing is in black ceramic. Other than the case’s resistance to water pressure up to 300 meters, it is the same as the previously mentioned Luna Rossa models. Another difference in this model is the date display and the GMT feature. The 9 o’clock position has a second’s sub-dial and the 3 o’clock position has a date display. The automatic Caliber P.9100/GMT provides a 3-day power reserve when fully wound.
