Radiomir means a lot to the famous brand. The admirable story of Panerai, which is among the unique names of the watch world today, begins with this special watch. Radiomir, designed by Guido Panerai in 1936 and named after the material developed to enable the dial to be legible in dark environments, is once again bringing its glorious past to the present day with a new model.

Before moving on to the technical details of the model, it is worth mentioning the Eilean, which gave the model its name. Eilean is a yacht designed by the leading boat builder William Fife III at the Fife shipyard, Scotland. The yacht, which sailed the European and Caribbean seas until it was no longer seaworthy, was purchased by Panerai in 2006.

Radiomir Eilean hosts many details that emphasize the maritime heritage of the brand. The lines used on the dial's surface and the mottled brown finish evoke the yacht's teak deck, while the lettering "Eilean 1936", written on the case back and strap, is the same as on the ship's boom. Likewise, the dragon emblem adorning the hull of the boat comes to life again in an engraving on the left side of the case. The leather strap, produced in Tuscany, the Italian region where Panerai was born, features meticulous stitching inspired by the laces found in Eilean's sails.

The new model comes with a 45mm diameter Radiomir style case. The case, which is made of a matte stainless steel alloy, which Panerai calls Patina Steel, is waterproof up to 100 meters.

The model sports a highly legible dial, designed following the Radiomir’s signature feature. The Sandwich style dial, which suits the model’s Retro character with its luminous layer finished in a yellowish tone, features a set of gold plated hands.
