Patek Philippe added a new reference to the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time family.
Patek Philippe enthusiasts and, of course, watch lovers who follow the industry closely, will surely remember the Ref. 7234 model code. The same reference was also included among the novelties at the Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition event held in Singapore. However, the codes at the end of this reference make the difference between these two models obvious. The model introduced in Singapore was a limited edition model with a stainless steel case and a blue dial. Another model bearing the same reference was introduced in Baselworld 2018 with an 18K rose gold case and a brown dial. The latest model added to the collection, Ref. 7234G-001, comes with an 18K white gold case and a navy blue dial.
The new model comes in an 18K white gold case measuring 37.5mm in diameter and 10.78mm in height. The case, with sapphire crystals on both sides, is designed to withstand water pressure up to 30 meters. The case, which has extra winding crowns to adjust the second time zone feature on its left side, does not compromise its sporty touch despite its compact size.
The dial of the model is prepared in a dark blue tone. As in other versions, there are Local and Home time indicators at 3 and 9 o'clock positions of the dial, accompanied by large Arabic numeral indices and thick hands filled with Super-LumiNOVA. The pointer style date display is located at 6 o'clock.
The new model is powered by the Caliber: 324 SC FUS movement. 29-jewels automatic movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers up to 45 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The movement, which has the Patek Philippe Seal, can be viewed through the sapphire crystal display case back.
Joining the model family as standard production, Ref. 7234G-001 Calatrava Pilot Travel Time comes with two calfskin straps, one in blue and the other in vintage brown tones.
