Porsche Design celebrates the famous automaker's 75th anniversary in the industry with a new limited edition model.
The new model, designed and produced to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the famous automobile manufacturer's first model, the 356 No.1, gathers watch enthusiasts and loyal fans of the brand.
The new version comes with a 40mm diameter and 14.15mm thick case, which we are familiar with from the current Porsche Design model family. The surface of the case, which is made of black titanium-carbide alloy, achieves its matte appearance with the micro-sandblasting process applied using glass pieces. Accompanied by a black-coated titanium crown and chronograph pushers, the case has an AR-coated sapphire crystal on the front. On the back of the sporty case, which offers 100M water resistance, a titanium case back with a sapphire crystal display serves.
Porsche Design Chronograph 1 - 75 Years of Porsche Edition hosts a dial that is both stylish and functional based on the black/white contrast. The space between the dial placed below the crystal level and the case is closed by an inner bezel with a concave design and tachymetric scale. The SLN phosphorus-filled hands and indices used on the dial, which includes day and date indicators at 3 o'clock, promise perfect legibility in almost any environment. The dial, which also includes the modern Porsche Design logo, gains movement with the bright red chronograph seconds hand.
At the heart of the new model is the brand's movement with the reference WERK 01.140. The COSC-certified automatic chronograph movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800vph) and offers a power reserve of up to 48 hours when fully wound. The caliber, which takes its power from the rotor that refers to the legendary rim of the brand, Fuchs, can be watched with pleasure through the sapphire crystal display case back.
Porsche Design Chronograph 1 - 75 Years of Porsche Edition comes with two different strap alternatives, a perforated black leather strap, and a leather-lined black textile strap. The list price determined for the model, which is limited to 475 units and offered for sale at the authorized sales points of the brand and on the official e-commerce site as of June 8, is EUR 9,975 (including taxes).
