The rightful owner of the Master of Materials motto, Rado is also known for its extensive archive that includes many legendary models designed and produced in this context. Among these models is the DiaStar Original, which is not only remembered for its elliptical case form but also for its bezel on the front made of Tungsten-Carbide alloy, which is almost impossible to damage. The design, identified with the brand for many watch lovers over the middle age, is presented with a skeleton-style dial for the first time since its introduction in 1962.

The new model comes with an elliptical case measuring 38mm x 45mm x 11.9mm. The front of the stainless-steel case sports a wide bezel made of Ceramos alloy, which refers to the original model. On the front of the case, an AR-coated and square-faceted sapphire crystal serves. On the back of the case, which is appreciated with these details that pay homage to the original model, there is a sapphire crystal display case back. The case, which is highly likely to show itself on the wrist with its classical form, continues to accompany its users in average water activities with its WR100M waterproof value.

The new version draws attention with its perforated dial, which successfully reflects the industrial design language of the brand. The dial, which summarizes the design language and philosophy of the brand at once, shows anthracite bridges, a black chapter ring with white minute track and golden indices with white SLN, golden hour and minute hands treated with white SLN, golden central seconds hand and pivoting Rado anchor at 9 o’clock.

The model beats with the automatic and 80-hour power reserve Caliber R808, produced by the sister company ETA, which continues its activities under the umbrella of the Swatch Group. A three-link stainless steel bracelet complements the neo-classic model. MSRP is CHF 1,950.
