Roger Dubuis / Lamborghini duo, one of the most successful examples of brand partnerships between luxury watch and car brands, came together again for the new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracán Performante model.
Among the well-known marketing strategies of luxury watch brands, brand partnerships from different branches are now adopted by watch brands that produce in various segments. The most common example of these brand partnerships is the combination of watch and car brands.
Let the other ones aside, long-term brand partners Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini were back in business for the model, Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracán Performante. Scheduled to be officially introduced at the upcoming SIHH 2019 watch trade show, the information about the new model was shared by the watch enthusiast recently.
The new model, which brings both two brands’ philosophy in terms of technology and aesthetics, is inspired by the super sports car Huracán Performante by the famous Italian manufacturer and Roger Dubuis’s brand partner Lamborghini.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracán Performante is offered in a black PVD coated titanium case measuring 45mm in diameter. The case, which we are familiar with from the other Excalibur platform models, is equipped with anti-glare treated scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 50 meters / 5 bars.
The new model features a skeletonized dial that highlights the cutting edge technology look of the concept successfully. The dial, which tributes to Lamborghini with accents finished in matching bright yellow tone with the bezel, is white Super LumiNOVA applied for better legibility under darker environments.
One of the most important details of the new model is its movement. Being the second movement offered within Roger Dubuis / Lamborghini brand partnership, Caliber RD630 offers many details that tribute to the model’s inspiration Huracán Performante in terms of both technically and visually.
The balance of the mechanism is placed at 12 ° angle. Designed to resemble the V10 engine, which powers the Lamborghini Huracán Performante model, and equipped with a rim-like oscillating rotor, the self-winding movement offers 60 hours power reserve when fully wound.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracán Performante comes on a bi-material black rubber base and grey Alcantara® inlay with yellow stitching. The strap is secured by folding clasp made of titanium.
The model is exclusively available at the Roger Dubuis boutiques with a limited production of only 88 units.
