Rolex Dreams V.2023

Rolex Dreams V.2023

Which new models will Rolex introduce? Since we entered the year 2023, let's revisit this popular topic.

Since the subject is quite popular, all Rolex enthusiasts express their ideas, or, more likely, dreams. When Rolex introduces its novelties in April, this excitement may turn into disappointment. Why? Rolex is a very conservative brand about introducing new models. Besides, it is almost impossible to see any leaks on the internet until the morning hours of the introduction day. Regarding the designs of the new Rolex models, which are as strictly a state secret, I would like to make a few guesses.

I'm expecting a new Milgauss. There are several reasons for this. First, while the old generation Caliber 3130 was replaced by the 3230, every watch that hosted this movement was subjected to a facelift or a direct case/dial update. I do not think Rolex will continue to produce the Caliber 3130 only for the Milgauss model. On the other hand, the magnetic resistance of 1000 Gauss (the Milgauss name comes from this rating) is an easy figure to achieve considering the current Swiss watchmaking standards. As such, the same field has been re-opened for Rolex to demonstrate its superior engineering. Now that Rolex will have to pass the 1000 Gauss level, will it change its model name too?

The colors on the bezels of the GMT-Master II family are the subject of a different story. The adventure, which started with all black, continued in the form of blue-black, then blue-red (actually, it is better to call it purple/dark blue-burgundy), and finally green-black. Let's add the brown-black used in the gold model to the list. Millions are waiting for the brand's next move to be a GMT-Master II with a red and black bezel, which can produce the other color in any tone when black is involved.

The number of people waiting for a Daytona with larger dimensions is also quite high. I don't know whether Daytona's 60th birthday will be celebrated with a new case, but there is one thing I am sure of; we will see more diamonds than ever this year.

Titanium. The Yacht-Master prototype that appeared with spy photos and the first Rolex made entirely of titanium, Deepsea Challenge, prove the brand's interest in titanium. Maybe this year or later, I think, we'll see titanium more often in Rolex catalogs.

I can't be the only one who wants Day-Date models with dials made of semi-precious stones to come back. Day-Date models hosting mineral dials, unique colors, and adorned with precious stones reflect the true Rolex spirit to the fullest.

Although it is unlikely to see a new complication when talking about Rolex novelties, Sky-Dweller overthrew this prejudice. Who knows, maybe there will be another mid-level complication.

The bracelet master, Rolex, reveals its superiority with straps as well. Aside from the models with leather and rubber straps supported by folding buckles, how likely are we to encounter a Rolex equipped with leather straps with standard pin buckles? Let's take the game one step further; I wish the rectangular Prince models produced in the 30s and 40s were back again in the Rolex catalogs with their updated looks and specs so every other brand could see the perfect angular watch.
