The king of the skies is in our presence again with its renewed case and dial. Introduced at the 2022 Watches & Wonders fair, the new Air King is stronger and more assertive than ever before.
Taking its strength from Rolex's aviation roots, the successful model Air King is one of the most striking watches among the 2022 innovations. The 40mm diameter stainless steel case draws our attention with its larger and stronger character form than ever before. The protection attachments positioned on both sides of the crown are also just one of the details that reinforce the model's strong stance.
We can call it small but effective touches for the widening lug width and increasing case/dial diameters of the watch. Inspired by the gauges of the land speed record holder SSC Bloodhound, the dial features a glow-in-the-dark SuperLuminova filling inside the numbers 3, 6 and 9. The water resistance value of the watch is limited to 100 meters, as in other watches in the series.
Equipped with the automatic caliber 3230 with a 70-hour power reserve, the model is a candidate to be one of the sportiest options among the uncomplicated Rolex with its yellow logo and green inscriptions on the dial. The Rolex Air King is presented with a stainless steel bracelet with an Easylink mechanism, which has fully brushed surfaces and provides an extension of up to 5mm.
