Seiko reinterprets three of its successful models in the diver's watch collection with a trio of black-themed versions. The new versions are based on popular models with classic and modern themes in the brand's diver watches product line.
The new versions, which differ from the standard models of the product group with black PVD-coated steel cases and black/white/orange themed components, are powered by the Caliber 6R35 movement, one of the brand's current automatics.
The first model in the series, SPB253, is based on the Prospex 1965 platform, one of the brand's most popular Re-Issue models. The classic case with a diameter of 40.5mm comes in black PVD coated steel specifically for the version. On the front of the comfortable case, there is a black insert bezel embellished with orange and cream-colored fonts. The case, accompanied by a screw-in black PVD crown, is waterproof up to 200 meters. The sporty model, acclaimed for its classic design, sports a highly legible dial with a black background and phosphorus-filled accents. The stylish model is available for sale with two black straps, one rubber, and one textile. SPB253 is limited to 5500 pieces.
The next model is the Ref. SPB255 based on model 6159-7001. Emphasizing the brand's successful past in diver watches with its cushion style case, the model shares the black theme, as in the other models of the series. The 42mm diameter case, which can withstand 300 meters of water pressure this time, is again made of black PVD coated stainless steel material. Offering vintage vibes with the crown located at 4 o'clock, the model is hosts components in black/cream/orange colors. The model, limited to 5500 pieces, comes with a black textile strap.
The last model of the series comes in the form of another iconic design from the brand, Ref. 6105-8110 -aka- Captain Willard. Inspired by the original version worn by successful actor Martin Sheen in Francis Ford Coppola's cult movie Apocalypse Now, the design is one of the favorite models of Seiko fans today. With its 42.7mm diameter asymmetrical case and characteristic crown guards, Ref. SPB257 is waterproof up to 200 meters. The black PVD-coated stainless steel case hosts components designed in black/cream/orange colors following the rest of the series. The model, which is limited to 5500 pieces like other models, is accompanied by a black textile strap.
