We are here with the latest V Series V3-01 model from SevenFriday. Technically speaking, V3-01 bears the same specs with the V1-01 and V2-01 models which I reviewed recently at Horobox therefore I will pass the technical part and move on with the model’s esthetic details which are the most important assets of SevenFriday timepieces
Unlike the previous versions of V Series the V1-01 and V2-01, the stainless steel case is black PVD coated. While giving a more tactical look over the Standard industrial appearance, the PVD coated case is quite prone to show scratches. The WR rating remains the same as 30M which means you better keep the watch away from water.
The dial features some novelties as well. As a starter, we have carbon fiber details a certain parts of the dial. Using carbon fiber details adds the watch a sportier character which recall motorsports specifically as the commercials and ads are also focused on the same theme by featuring super cars. The colors chosen for the hands set also support the motorsports connection by featuring a blue second hand and a red minute hand.
I have made a detailed description of the method for reading the time on SevenFriday V Series timepieces in my V1-01 review. The below photo was taken at 01:17 position. The indicator located at 10 o’clock side helps us to determine whether it’s day or night.
V3-01 is powered with the same Miyota 82S7 caliber used in the previous models. The movement, which is well known with its durability and precision, offers 40h power reserve when fully wound.
V3-01 comes with a black leather strap like the previous versions however; the strap on the V3-01 is remarkably softer than the ones offered with the V1-01 and V1-01. Additionally, I found it way better looking than the previous one with that new design. The wearing comfort is well above average and the easy strap change system is a serious bonus for the aftermarket strap aficionados.
SevenFriday V Series timepieces are always excellent choices among unique looking watches with their unparalleled price/performance ratio. V3-01 is no exception and it’s arguably the best looking SevenFriday ever made.
