TAG Heuer introduced the new Aquaracer model, prepared in partnership with Bamford, one of the popular names of “custom” works.
It seems that the partnerships between the designer names, which take the watch models away from their standard images and assume a brand new identity, and the watch brands have become indispensable elements of the industry. The latest example of partnerships regarding these collaborations comes from TAG Heuer and the UK-based Bamford Watch Department. The duo, who rolled up their sleeves for the Monaco Chronograph in 2018, shows up with a brand new Aquaracer now.
The new model comes in a 43mm diameter Aquaracer style case made of Grade 2 titanium alloy with micro-sandblasting. Accompanied with an orange triangle unidirectional 60-minute diver-type bezel, a titanium case back and, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating as well as a TAG Heuer signed screw-down crown, the case is resistant to water pressure up to 300 meters.
The dial of the model hosts a concentric pattern. The dial, which resembles a record with its black ground color, is accompanied by Super-LumiNOVA phosphor-filled applique markers and hands with black/orange details. TAG Heuer and Bamford logos are also featured on the dial with a date window at 3 o'clock.
The new model beats with the Caliber 5 movement. Sellita SW-200 based automatic movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers up to 38 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
Limited to only 1500 pieces, the model comes with a micro-sandblasted Grade 2 titanium bracelet. The three-piece bracelet is secured by a folding clasp with integrated diver extension. The list price announced for the model that will be available as of December 2020 is CHF 3,800.
