TAG Heuer continues to expand its flagship group in the mid-range diver's watches segment, the Aquaracer Professional. The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver, which reminds us of our longing for the summer with its vibrant orange tone, is under the spotlight.
If they ask what is the most popular segment or watch type in the world of watches, I'm sure many of us would say diver watches. So, what makes these watches so preferable? I remember answering this question in one of our conversations on our YouTube channel. Diver's watches symbolize the victory of mankind over nature. The adventure, which started with water-resistant watches, evolved into micro-mechanical engineering marvels that can go down to the deepest points of the world with the help of humanity's endless instinct to explore. These watches, which are designed to be strong, sporty, durable, and stylish by nature, are among the first choice of not only watch enthusiasts but also end-users who just want to buy "a good watch".
Of course, brands are not indifferent to this situation. With the help of high technology, the limits and the records that are broken with each passing day continue to affect the land divers who spend most of their lives at a desk. TAG Heuer, one of the well-established names in the Swiss Watchmaking Industry, never leaves the radar of watch lovers with its successful models in the diver's watch category. The brand, which combines quality watches that can meet professional needs with relatively good prices and a strong brand image through the Aquaracer Professional series, is strengthening its place in this product group day by day.
The latest model added to the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional series winks at us watch lovers with its “a diver’s classic” orange dial.
The new model comes with the up-to-date Aquaracer Professional case with a diameter of 43mm. The case that offers a characteristic image with its wide lugs, hosts a sapphire crystal with a lens that magnifies the date disc. The flat-sided bezel, which also stands out with its design unique to the model family, houses an insert made of black ceramic material. The sporty case, which is compatible with professional diving with its 300 meters water resistance rating, sports a solid steel case back engraved with a vintage diver’s helmet. TAG Heuer logo is on the screwed crown, which is protected by triangular crown guards.
The model comes with a vibrant orange dial. Let's add that this tone, which is among the classic dial colors for diver watches, is one of the easy to notice tones underwater. The dial offers teak-wood-looking horizontal lines and a date window at 6. The characteristic indices inspired by the straight-sided bezel and thick hands promise sufficient legibility even in the darkest environments thanks to the Super-LumiNOVA phosphor filling.
Caliber 5, one of the brand's entry-level automatic calibers, beats inside the new model. Based on the tested and approved Sellita SW200-1 movement, the caliber ticks in many TAG Heuer models. Working at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), the movement makes up for its positive contribution to the price of the watch, although it loses points with its 38-hour power reserve, which is a little weak by today’s standards.
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver comes with a three-piece stainless steel bracelet, one of the signature details of the model family. The sporty bracelet promises a perfect fit with almost any wrist with its fine adjustment system that allows adjustment up to 1.5 cm. There is nothing to say about the wearing comfort of the metal bracelet, but if we consider the model purely visually, I personally think that a much more stylish look will be obtained with a black rubber strap. In fact, the perforated rubber strap in the limited edition WBP208C.FT6201 would be the spot-on strap choice for the model.
The model, which is included in the standard (non-limited production) collection, is available at a sticker price of CHF 3,200.
The model, which warms us with its orange color that evokes summer that took ages to come, seems to be a candidate to be the “watch of this summer” with its modern lines and powerful features.
