TAG Heuer continues its 160th-anniversary celebrations full throttle. The brand, which started celebrations with the Carrera 160 Years Silver Dial Limited Edition in the first days of the year, refers to one of the milestones in its history for its second collection edition. The brand, which launched the illuminated and quite eye-catching Heuer automatic chronographs under the name 'Montreal' in 1972, blends Montreal design with the Carrera case in its new model that is limited to 1000 pieces.
The new TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition is inspired by the Ref. 110503W White Heuer Montreal model, which debuted in 1972 and is a rare collector's item today. It draws attention with its red, yellow, and blue color palette that looks quite balanced.
10 years before the release of Montreal, in 1962, the brand's CEO Jack Heuer heard about the legendary Carrera Panamericana, one of the most challenging races in the world, which means Spanish in terms of road, race, speed. He had decided that it was suitable for the name of his new model. The first Heuer Carrera chronographs were launched a year later. Fond of simple and modern designs, Jack Heuer wanted the Heuer Carrera models to be both practical and sporty to used conveniently in the races.
Bringing together these two stories and design codes, the new Carrera Montreal model comes with a matte white background that highlights the three blue 'azurage' sub-dials. TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition (Ref. CBK221C.FC6488) comes with a 39mm polished stainless-steel case. Domed sapphire crystal rises above the dial. The number of the limited model is located on the screw-in case back with a sapphire display. The case is water-resistant to 100 meters.
Carrera Montreal beats with the Caliber Heuer 02 movement, which provides 80 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model, presented in a special box, comes on a blue alligator leather strap and a polished stainless steel buckle.
