TAG Heuer has made a name for itself not only with its motor sports inspired designs and the connected model feeling like a bombshell in 2016, has introduced the matte black ceramic version of the recently added Carrera 01 model family.

The new model we are talking about is developed on the Carrera 01 platform. The series, which was highly appreciated by the innovative lines that separated It from the traditionally designed models in the Carrera collection, was added to the TAG Heuer product line in 2015. Another feature of this series, which succeeded in identifying itself with its magnificent 45mm case, was the brand hosting its fully in-house movement: Caliber Ref.01.
TAG Heuer, who does not ignore the success of the models, seems to have secured the position of this series with a new model planned to hit the stores in 2017.
The prominent feature of the watch is, of course, the case made of matte black ceramic. The innovative details in the design of the case, which display a very bold image with a diameter of 45mm, are not limited to ceramics and is considered one of the most important alternative materials in the last period.
The design of the case is something the brand’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver took from his past experiences and based on the modular principle that we are familiar with from the Hublot Big Bang models. Parts such as the lugs, bezel, and center case are all designed as separate components. Made entirely from matte black ceramic, this piece is accompanied by a set of chronograph buttons and a winding crown made of black titanium carbide material.
The case comes with a 100M waterproof rating that is well within today’s standard for a sports chronograph timepiece. There are sapphire crystal glasses with antireflection coating on both sides of the case.

The timepiece is powered with the brand’s fully in-house movement, the Caliber Ref.01 which we know from previous Carrera 01 models. The self-winding movement sports a column wheel chronograph module, beats at 28800vph, and offers 50h power reserve when fully wound. In accordance with the all-black concept, there is a darkened rotor which is visible from the transparent caseback.
The dial of the watch bears a skeletal form as it is in the Heuer-01 model.
TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matte Ceramic is offered in two versions: as a black ceramic bracelet, or black rubber strap.
