Aston Martin, the leading British super sports car manufacturer, introduced a new model that bears its brand partner TAG Heuer’s name; Aston Martin DBS Superleggera TAG Heuer Edition. Aston Martin, which did not only give the name of its brand partner to its latest model, includes a special TAG Heuer timepiece in the model’s standard option list. Considering the GBP 295,000 price tag on the super sports car, it’s no big deal.
Since the real fruit of brand partnership is not the watch, we also give it the priority. Aston Martin DBS Superleggera TAG Heuer Edition was developed based on the British brand’s V12 engine flagship DBS platform. The cool Superleggera (meaning "super light" in Italian) name is a tribute to Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, an Italian coachbuilder that constructed ultra-light bodies for Aston Martin in the 1960s.
Aston Martin DBS Superleggera TAG Heuer Edition, produced in limited a limited span of 50 units only, is available in Monaco Black color and matching 21” black light alloy wheels, which give it a stealth look. The model, which goes from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds, comes on red accented Pirelli P Zero tires and red brake calipers that complement the masculine look with the carbon trim/body components. The fender badges with TAG Heuer logo and black leather/Alcantara combined seats with red stitching and bespoke TAG Heuer quilting, each displaying the TAG Heuer logo as well, are the details that refer to the brand partner watchmaker.
Included with the purchase of every Aston Martin DBS Superleggera TAG Heuer Edition is the TAG Heuer DBS Edition Carrera Heuer 02. Let’s put aside the sentence’s inflation caused by the use of same words and get to the watch, shall we?
The new model comes in a 45mm diameter case made of Forged Carbon and black DLC coated stainless steel. The case is equipped with scratch-resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 100 meters / 10 bars. The black dial is semi-open worked featuring red accents and hexagonal pattern for the top-plate evoking the front grill of the super sports car. The model is powered by the integrated automatic column-wheel and vertical clutch chronograph Caliber Heuer 02 movement. Beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), the movement offers a power reserve of 80 hours when fully wound. The new model comes on a rubber strap with red-stitched, black leather and black DLC coated folding clasp.
