TAG Heuer introduced the new Formula 1 Indy 500 2020 Special Edition model to celebrate its 160 years of timekeeping experience in the world of motorsports and 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing'.
Celebrating its 16th anniversary as the 'Official Timekeeper' of the NTT IndyCar Series and the 104th Indianapolis 500 race, TAG Heuer celebrates this long-term partnership with the Formula 1 Indy 500 2020 Special Edition (Ref. CAZ101AD.FT8024). One of the oldest automobile races and known as part of the famous 'Triple Crown' competition, the Indy 500 is a 500-mile race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is one of the most attended one-day sports events.
Designed together with the IndyCar team, the TAG Heuer 43mm Formula Indy 500 2020 Special Edition chronograph is inspired by the nickname, 'The Brickyard', and history of the Indy racetrack featuring brick motifs and red details on its dial. The Indy 500 logo stands out on the sub-dial at 6 o'clock. The detailed black dial supports the daring and sporty look of the model and hosts three 'azurage' patterned sub-dials.
The model's 43mm case is made of Black DLC coated steel with the sandblasting technique. 'INDY 500' is written on the black ceramic bezel. The case is resistant to water pressure up to 200 meters, and there is an "Indy 500" engraving on the stainless-steel case back.
Powered by a quartz movement, the model is completed with two different straps, black rubber and leather, and a brushed steel buckle.
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection, created in 1987, is a stylish extension of the brand's ties to the exciting and fast-paced world of racing. Like the sport itself, the watches in the collection are presented with remarkable bold designs and technical features inspired by the performance of motor racing.
Limited to only 1500 units, the model will be on the wrist of NTT IndyCar Series driver Alexander Rossi at this year's Indy 500 race.
