Richard Mille opens a new chapter in jewelry watchmaking with his new collection RM HJ-01.
Richard Mille, the intersection of the latest technological researches, sacred craft jewelry applications, fine arts, and sophisticated watchmaking, steps into the world of 'jewelry watch' with its eye-catching new model RM HJ-01.
The major role in the new collection of Richard Mille was given to the brand's creation and development director Cécile Guenat. Guenat has shaped the vision of the new collection with the brand's trademark ‘Tonneau’ shaped case and her experience in jewelry as well as her interest in Art Déco. The journey of creation continued with the magnificent layers of cigarette holders that combined functionality with luxury and the characteristic architectural features of this artistic period. The result is four models that stand out with their striking visual lines and eye-catching artisanship of valuable materials.
Three models are offered in white gold and one in red gold. Cécile Guenat uses four different stones to define the main color of these four jewelry watches: She worked with ruby, blue sapphire, purple sapphire, and emerald. Each of these precious stones shows the concepts of volume, depth, curve, and line architecturally by configuring the Tonneau form. Guenat balanced the curves of the case with geometric shapes and complex patterns of lines. Valuable stones: They are set in the case with three different types of sequences: 'snow', 'closed' and 'grain-set'. Let me add that it took more than a year to create the case in this state.
There are multiple reasons why the case back is made of black ceramic. In addition to its lightness and durability, this material has fine grains that provide a flawless finish, like Egyptian sculptures. The famous screws redesigned for this collection have gained a floral appearance. The case and bezel display a modern asymmetry with the interaction of gemstones of different colors and sizes.
As for the dial, the diagonal lines curl in, making it look more energetic and rhythmic. The diamond-shaped flange just below the crystal extends to the bezel lines, providing structure and elegance. This elegant detail further narrowed the area of the hands and movement. Under normal circumstances, the design details that will cause difficulties in production do not get approval easily, but we're talking about Richard Mille here.
The buckle of Richard Mille RM HJ-01 is at least as fancy and elegant as the case. A leather strap complements the buckle, which is also equipped with precious stones.
