Tissot continues to expand the successful PRX collection it introduced last year. Bringing the Seastar 100 concept, which left its mark in the 70s with its retro and sporty look, to the present day, the model family now includes the chronograph complication with two new models.
The Tissot PRX model family, which is among the most striking novelties of 2021, continues its rise in the entry-level segment, especially with its unrivaled price/performance ratio. The collection, which we have been focusing on with unisex models designed in 35mm in the past few days, is again the guest of our pages with two new versions.
The new models come with a 42mm diameter and 14.5mm thick case
that retains the PRX design elements. Sapphire crystals serve on
both sides of the sporty case, in which elegant polished chamfers
meet the masterfully crafted brushed surfaces. The case, which is
water-resistant to 100 meters, another signature detail of the
model family, features a pair of rectangular chronograph buttons as
well as a Tissot-signed winding crown.
Two types of dials accompany the models that combine the PRX
product group with the chronograph function, which is a traditional
watchmaking classic. Both dials draw attention with their Panda and
Reverse Panda type color palettes, which are highly admired among
watch enthusiasts. The dials, which also highlight the retro
character of the model family, can be preferred with silver
counters on navy blue or with black counters on silver. Tri-Compax
chronograph dials sport a minute scale in contrasting tones and a
date window located at 4:30.
The new models tick with the Caliber A05.H31, designed and produced by ETA that continues its activities within the Swatch Group, with which Tissot is also affiliated. The Valjoux-based automatic chronograph movement draws attention with its power reserve time of 60 hours. A darkened perforated rotor provides energy to the movement, which is enjoyed through the sapphire crystal case back.
Both models come with an integrated bracelet, another signature detail of the PRX concept. The bracelet, offering a stylish and sporty look with its matte and glossy surfaces, is fixed to the wrist with a butterfly clasp.
New models with a price tag of EUR 1,495 are expected to reach sales points on June 22.
