The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 reinterprets the luxury Two-Tone concept with two new dials designed in blue and brown tones.
The PRX, whose roots are based on the Tissot Seastar model produced in 1978, changed all the balances between entry-level models as soon as it came out, and took its place among the most prominent novelties of 2021. The model, which was first introduced as Quartz, later expanded with three new versions equipped with the game-changing movement of Swatch Group to which the brand is affiliated, Powermartic80. Two new models added to the model family, on the other hand, attracted great attention with their updates focusing on the luxury aspect of the concept.
One of the most distinctive features of the newly added models takes place in the case. The stainless steel cases, designed with a diameter of 40mm and a height of 10.93mm, are accompanied by a Fluted bezel made of 18K solid gold instead of a smooth steel bezel. There are sapphire crystals on both sides of the sporty case, which maintains its water-resistance value of 100 meters.
Another novelty in the model family greets us on the dial. The waffle pattern is replaced by the Sun-Ray pattern, which we remember from the Quartz versions. The hands and markers produced in the same tone as the bezel are accompanied by backgrounds in brown and blue tones.
The list price for the models fixed to the wrist with the integrated bracelet, which we remember from the past models, is EUR 1,950.
Of course, it is impossible to deny the luxurious and exclusive effect that the new models add to the PRX family. However, the unrivaled price/performance ratio, which is perhaps the biggest reason for the concept's rightful reputation, seems to have ceased to be the prominent feature of the concept in the new series.
