Tudor, which provided watches to the French Navy with examples from the Submariner product group, which is not currently in production, developed the first fruit of the young partnership through the Pelagos series, the most functional model within the brand’s product line.

The newly added model to the collection deserves the title of Tool Watch with its fixed strap bar feature called FXD, in addition to its impressive technical features. Now let's get to the details of the new model...

The Tudor Pelagos FXD Marine Nationale comes in a 42mm diameter and 12.75mm high case. The sporty case is made of ultra-light titanium alloy. In this way, it offers comfortable wristwear, despite its large dimensions. The front of the case features a sapphire crystal and a blue ceramic enamel bezel. Equipped with a locked crown and a solid steel cover, the case is waterproof up to 200 meters.

The model-specific FXD part means that the pins used to attach the strap to the case are fixed. In other words, the pins cannot be removed. As such, the strap is attached to the watch by passing through the gaps between the pin and the case. The history of this design dates back to the Trench Watch watches that emerged during the First World War. This design is based on the soldiers soldering copper wires to women's pocket watches and obtaining wristwatches thanks to the ammo bag straps passed between these wires and the case. A similar method is used in Radiomir, one of Panerai's legendary models, which enables watches to survive all challenging conditions without the straps coming off.

The new model hosts a blue-toned dial, which we are familiar with from previous Tudor diver models. Equipped with applique hour markers and Snowflake hands, one of the signature details of the model family, the dial offers excellent legibility in almost any environment thanks to its phosphorus-filled accents.

The Tudor Pelagos FXD Marine Nationale is powered by the Caliber MT5602 movement, designed and produced by Tudor. The COSC certified automatic movement impresses with its 70-hour power reserve, as well as its silicon hairspring and the inertia balance wheel.
