Ulysse Nardin continues the Diver X Skeleton concept, its extraordinary representative in the diver's watches segment, with a new version.
The well-established brand achieved great success in 2021 with the Diver X Skeleton, which was admired for its blue/orange colors, and all 175 produced were sold in a short time. Known for its DNA that includes marine and nautical titles, Ulysse Nardin has recently added a new limited edition to this unique model family.
It is not common for the diver's watch concept, which is considered one of the watch model families most suitable for the Tool Watch concept, to meet under the same roof with the skeleton dial trend, which offers a purely aesthetic approach. The reason for this situation is simple; Diver watches focus on functionality. Skeleton dial models, on the other hand, are designed with the thought that the function should follow the form. However, even though it is rare, the combination of these two concepts also allows the emergence of extremely stylish and original designs. Ulysse Nardin Nardin Diver X Skeleton is one of the best examples of this union.
The basis of the concept is the brand’s Blast Skeleton X platform. Bringing the X symbol to the focal point and presenting an eye-catching image with its skeleton design, the model family signals that the brand will continue to exist among the unique names of modern times, not only in terms of movement development but also in terms of design. Following the same path, the brand introduced the Diver X Skeleton last year, which is highly appreciated by watch lovers with its blue/orange color palette. Ulysse Nardin, who decided to continue this successful product group among the novelties of 2022, shows up with its new version that draws attention with its black/yellow color theme.
The new model comes with a case designed with a diameter of 44mm and a height of 16mm. Standing out with its modern design, the case is made of black DLC coated titanium alloy. The unidirectional diver bezel on the front of the case houses an inlay made of Carbonium® alloy, known for its strength and lightness. Crown guards made of yellow rubber accompany the bezel inlay, which offers excellent legibility with matching yellow and white markings. The sporty case, with sapphire crystals on both sides, is water-resistant to 200 meters.
The dial, which is among the key elements in the striking design of the model, impresses with its generously perforated design. The elegant dial, which reveals the movement that is fixed to the case with a black DLC-coated X-shaped construction, does not compromise on legibility thanks to the thick hands and indices filled with Super-LumiNOVA phosphorus.
At the heart of Ulysse Nardin Diver X Skeleton Black is the Caliber UN-372, designed and produced entirely within the brand. The 171-piece/23 jewels automatic movement beats at a frequency of 3Hz (21,600vph) and leaves its competitors behind with a power reserve of 4 days/96 hours when fully wound. Equipped with a balance wheel, anchor, and escapement wheel made of silicon alloy, brought to the watch industry by Ulysse Nardin, the movement also emphasizes the brand's success in high technology with its barrel cover made of Carbonium® alloy.
The model, limited to only 175 pieces, comes with a yellow rubber strap with a black ceramic element and a black ceramic/titanium deployant buckle. The new model is also available with a black R-Strap with scratch closing made from 100% recycled ocean fishing nets.
