Ulysse Nardin added a Tourbillon to the Marine Torpilleur model family, which is highlighted as part of its 2021 novelties. The model, which is the most luxurious and most complicated Marine Torpilleur ever made, is limited to only 175 units.
Tourbillon (and other high complications) is hardly new territory for Ulysse Nardin. On the contrary, it is a complication that they have been promoting for a long time for the brand, which has a unique history and experience in precision marine equipment. However, if we look at the Marine Torpilleur product line, yes, this is definitely a first. And in many ways.
The Marine Torpilleur Collection, which was added to the Ulysse Nardin product line in 2017, attracted attention with its relatively simple design and affordable price scale compared to the Marine Chronometer Collection, which has become the trademark of the brand. Continuing to develop the collection with different versions over the past four years, Ulysse Nardin once again underlined its trust in the Marine Torpilleur Collection with the new models it introduced as part of the 2021 novelties.
Among the novelties added to the Marine Torpilleur model family, the owner of the flagship title was the Tourbillon Grand Feu model.
The new model comes with a 42mm diameter and 11.93mm height designed case. The case, which is made of 18K 5N rose gold, has sapphire crystals on the front and back. The elegant case, which sports the brand signature fluted bezel and the UN emblem winding crown, is waterproof up to 50 meters.
As the name suggests, the stylish model hosts a black enamel dial produced with the Grand Feu technique. There is a window where Tourbillon escapement can be seen at the 6 o'clock position of the dial with Roman numeral print indices and gold hands are located on a black background. At 12 o'clock, the power reserve indicator takes its place.
Caliber UN-128 movement, produced and designed in-house, gives life to the new model. The COSC certified automatic movement includes the hour and minute functions, as well as the Tourbillon feature with constant power transmission. Equipped with an escape wheel, balance spring, and anchor made of silicon, the movement offers a power reserve time of up to 60 hours when fully wound.
The model, which comes with a black alligator strap and a UN signed 18K 5N rose gold buckle, is offered for sale with a tag price of EUR 42,000.
