This unique timepiece just sold for $852,525 all in (on a hammer price of CHF 700,000). Phillips Auction House had listed this watch with an "estimate on request". As expected for a unique piece from a brand like A. Lange & Söhne, the final figure is a good one considering the benefit being transferred to Children Action Foundation.
The model was introduced this year’s SIHH exhibition. Being a unique version, this A. Lange & Söhne 1815 ’Homage To Walter Lange was offered in a stainless steel case that is equipped with a glossy black enamel dial. In the meantime, the proud owner has the right (but no obligation) to purchase the "No.1" pieces of the Homage in 18K white, pink, and yellow gold, should he/she so choose.
