Watches & Wonders 2023 – Panerai New Models

The Italian-origin Swiss brand Panerai's 2023 novelties bring together the brand's characteristic design language with new color combinations and movements.

Among the Panerai collections, the Radiomir series has a special place. The first Panerai, produced in the 1930s, consists of the addition of soldered wires to a pocket watch, and this special watch got the name "Radiomir" because it had a radium-painted dial that provides visibility in the dark and underwater. The new models of the Radiomir family, which offer an unexpectedly high level of comfort from the diameter of the watch thanks to its short lug form, are getting ready to be one of the stars of the Watches & Wonders 2023 trade show.

Radiomir Annual Calendar PAM01363 & PAM01432

The models, produced from the patented Goldtech and Platinumtech alloy cases with a diameter of 45mm, have sapphire crystals and are water resistant up to 100 meters. The dial, on which small seconds, date, day, and month features can be viewed, is finished in dark blue-black and red-black colors, depending on the model. The 40-jewel automatic Caliber P.9010/AC, which can also be viewed through the sapphire crystal on the back of the watch, operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 72 hours/3 days when fully wound.

Radiomir California PAM01349

One of Panerai's most characteristic dial designs, the California dial, in which Roman and Arabic numerals are used together, comes up with a brand new version. This model, which is produced with a case diameter of 45mm for the first time in the brand's history, also has a special surface finish. The top of the stainless steel is first coated with black PVD, and then the case, bezel, and case back of the watch are aged with sandpaper. The watch, which has a sapphire crystal and a see-thru case back, is water resistant to 100 meters. The new model is powered by the hand-wound Caliber P.5000 movement, which offers an 8-day power reserve when fully wound.

Just like the California model, the Otto Giorni model has a 45mm diameter Brunito eSteel case made of stainless steel. The water resistance value of the watch, which is completed with sapphire crystal and a see-thru case back, is specified as 100 meters. The most important detail of the model, which offers dial alternatives in two different colors as from brown and navy blue to black, is the 8 Giorni Brevettato badge on the front at 3 o'clock. The new model is powered by the hand-wound Caliber P.5000 movement, which offers an 8-day power reserve when fully wound.
