Zenith collaborated with Silicon Valley collectors, bringing Chronomaster El Primero to the ‘Collective’.
For the 50th anniversary of the El Primero movement, Zenith met with the Collective collectors’ club and released a Chronomaster El Primero model, which will be available to group members only. The group consists of designers, managers, and manufacturers, many of whom live in the technology field, in Silicon Valley (San Francisco Bay Area), Silicon Street (New York), and Silicon Beach (Los Angeles). Collective is also based on the desire of a special space where watch collectors can come together and share their passion.
Collective’s founders Gabe Reilly and Asher Rapkin, who rolled up the wrists for Zenith Chronomaster El Primero C.01, collaborated with the brand’s design team in Switzerland and the well-established jewelry brand Topper Jewelers in the Bay Area, focusing on the dial of the model. The matte white finish is applied to the entire dial, while unobtrusive but legible and uniform gray is preferred for all texts on the dial. To achieve balance, the date display has been removed and a rhodium-plated hand is used instead of the classic red chronograph hand.
Matt and polished surfaces are used in the C.01’s 38mm diameter stainless steel case. The anti-reflective coating is applied on both sides of the domed sapphire crystal. The watch is equipped with a sapphire crystal display case back with XX / 50 production number engraved and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
The self-winding Caliber El Primero 4061 provides center hours and minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, 12 hours totalizer at 6 o’clock, 30 minutes counter at 3 o’clock and 50 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
A black Cordura effect rubber strap and a matt/polished buckle complement the Zenith Chronomaster El Primero C.01.
