Zenith is expanding its innovative model family Defy Extreme, which brings advanced technology under the same roof with horology, with a new model. The limited edition Zenith Defy Extreme E "Energy X Prix" also has the title of the world's lightest and most robust 1/100sec chronograph.
Designed for those who aim for perfection in terms of both form and function, DEFY Extreme E "Energy X Prix" stands out as a model produced to withstand the extreme environments in the farthest reaches of the world.
The new model comes with an up-to-date Defy Extreme style case designed with a diameter of 45mm. The case, which is made of ultra-light and durable carbon material, has sapphire crystals on both sides. The sporty case, accompanied by a screw-down crown and large chronograph pushers, is waterproof up to 200 meters.
The eye-catching model hosts a perforated dial designed in colors that match the theme. Components added on a blackened sapphire crystal background, with the help of Super-LumiNOVA phosphor material, promise optimal legibility in almost any environment, contrary to the complex design of the dial at first glance.
The sporty model works with the Caliber El Primero 9004 movement, which also gives life to many Defy Extreme models of the brand. The automatic chronograph movement operates at a frequency of 5Hz (36,000vph), which is considered the symbol detail of the El Primero concept and offers a power reserve time of up to 50 hours when fully wound. The 1/100 sec. chronograph function takes this feature from the chronograph escapement, which works at an astonishing 50Hz (360,000vph).
The new model, limited to only 20 pieces, is secured to the wrist with a black and purple velcro strap made from recycled tires. The model also comes with an extra strap that can be easily replaced with a quick strap change mechanism. All straps are accompanied by a titanium folding clasp with a micro-sandblasted surface.
