Zenith Defy Extreme Felipe Pantone

Zenith Defy Extreme Felipe Pantone

Zenith introduced the new Defy Extreme model, designed in collaboration with Felipe Pantone, one of the modern representatives of visual arts, to watch lovers.

This time, Zenith chose Defy Extreme as Felipe Pantone's canvas. Inspired by the "Planned Iridescence" series, Pantone combined bold colors and metallic elements with the sharp lines of Defy Extreme to create optical illusions and give the timepiece a sculptural depth.

The new Defy Extreme Felipe Pantone comes in a case made entirely of polished stainless steel, emphasizing the directional lines of Defy Extreme's architecture. In contrast, the dodecagon bezel and the guards for the chronograph's pushers are made using translucent blue YAS (yttrium aluminosilicate), a crystalline glass material similar to synthetic sapphire. The case, measuring 45mm x 15.4mm, has sapphire crystals on both sides. The sporty case also offers resistance to 200 meters of water pressure.

The dial emphasizes Pantone's signature style with the interplay of gradient colors, patterns, transparency, and light, complementing it with a chromatic look unlike anything ever made in watchmaking. This iridescent effect is created using a transparent sapphire disc as the base of the dial and an innovative physicochemical process.

Zenith El Primero 9004, which is among the innovative calibers of the watch world with its double escapement system, serves at the heart of the original model. The automatic chronograph movement operates at a frequency of 5Hz (36,000vph), which is considered the symbol detail of the El Primero concept and offers a power reserve time of up to 50 hours when fully wound. 1/100 sec. The chronograph function, which can measure with precision, takes this feature from the chronograph escapement, which works at an astonishing 50Hz (360,000vph).
