With its new stainless steel Daytona models coming with the Cerachrom bezel update introduced last year in Baselworld, Rolex introduced three new 18K solid gold versions this year bearing Cerachrom bezels and Oysterflex rubber bracelets.

After the introduction of the sensational new stainless steel Daytona models with Cerachrom bezels, Rolex aims to continue its success this year with three new versions of all gold Daytona collection with Cerachrom bezels and Oysterflex bracelet.

In fact, I knew that Rolex would apply the Cerachrom bezel to solid gold Daytona models this year. But, to be fitted with Oysterflex bracelets..? That did never cross my mind.

The Oysterflex bracelet, which the brand introduced for the first time with the Yachtmaster model in 2015, attracted a great interest from watchmakers and was adopted shortly. Unlike the standard rubber straps on the market, the super-flexible metal frame in the elastomer body makes it possible for the Oysterflex to be as durable and useful as a metal bracelet which was once again admired by watch aficionados with the new 18K solid gold Daytona models.

The Oysterflex bracelet is secured with the Oysterlock folding safety clasp which features the brand patented Easylink micro adjustment system. Thanks to that system, the user can extend the bracelet approximately for 5mm effortlessly. Besides the user friendly and safe operation, the clasps, which are made of 18K solid gold in line with the cases, look pretty cool with the all gold Daytona models.

If we leave the Cerachrom bezel and Oysterflex bracelet updates aside, it is possible to say that the new versions carry the characteristics of the typical Daytona family.  All models are powered with the brand’s Caliber Ref. 4030. As the rest of the product line, the latest versions of those movement bears the Rolex Superlative Chronometer Certification (+2/-2 sec daily accuracy) and come with a 5 year warranty.

All of the models in the new collection come with a solar dial with patterned dials. Dials compatible with case material and dials made by Rolex’s proprietary phosphor material Chromalight-filled handles are offered in a separate color for each version.

All new models in the collection come with sun-ray dials which are accompanied with hands produced in line with the case material and filled with Rolex’s patented phosphor material Chromalight. The white gold model comes with a dial in silver tones, the yellow gold model features the Rolex classic champagne dial, and the Everose model is accompanied by the Everose dial.

Prices are: EUR 25,000 for the Yellow Gold 116518LN, EUR 26,150 for the White Gold 116519LN and EUR 26,150 for the Everose 116515LN.

I consider Daytona’s Oysterflex bracelet option to be a very good decision, especially with its 100M WR rating which is suitable for everyday use as well as light water activities. Rolex, which totally rescued the most vulnerable area of ??the Daytona with the Cerachrom bezel addition, has also succeeded in renewing the all gold Daytona collection with the Cerachrom bezel upgrade that we all loved with the Chocolate Daytona model.
