IWC, which entered the year at a fast pace with the 2017-renovated Da Vinci series, announced four new models added to the iconic product line Ingenieur Collection.

At the beginning of this year, IWC introduced Da Vinci’s new models, a collection known with its classic style models that have not undergone a significant change over a long period of time. The new collection, which has hosted major complications like Perpetual Calendar and even Tourbillon, has received a full note from watch enthusiasts, especially with round cases and refined lines.

IWC showed up once again with its new collections before the end of the first half of the year with the new Ingenieur series, which represents the technological side of the brand. The collection, which consists of four different models, draws attention with its vintage inspired designs.

The introduction of the new models was hosted by the Goodwood 75th Members Meeting, an event which IWC is a regular brand partner.

The models in the collection are as follows; Ingenieur Automatic, Ingenieur Chronograph, Ingenieur Chronograph Sport and Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month.

Ingenieur Automatic is offered in a 40mm x 10.5mm case available in different material options. It is obvious that the model with time and date functions is the perfect alternative for everyday use. The new model is powered with the in-house Caliber Ref. 35111 which beats at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound.

The Ingenieur Chronograph model, which is offered with a 42mm diameter and 120M waterproof case, is especially notable for its retro-styled design. The model features the Caliber Ref. 69375 which we recall from the limited edition models introduced last year. The model comes with stainless steel and 18K pink gold case alternatives and leather strap or metal bracelet options.

The collection also features an Ingenieur Chronograph Sport model with a limited production of 500 units. At first glance, the model is quite similar to the standard chronograph versions however; there are major differences about the case as the model is offered in a 44mm diameter case made of Grade 5 titanium. The case features a pair of crown guards for a sportier look. The new model is powered with the Flyback chronograph featured Caliber Ref. 89361. Like the past models, Ingenieur Chronograph Sport sports a soft iron cage for magnetic field protection. This feature is highlighted with the lightning shaped hand at the 6 o’clock sub-dial. The model is offered with a black dial and matching black leather strap with contrast stitching.

IWC, which always includes a flag ship model with major complications in the newly launched series, also introduced an interesting Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month version in the renewed Ingenieur. Available in a 45mm x 17.5mm case made of 18K pink gold, the new model is powered by the brand’s Caliber Ref. 89800 which includes Flyback chronograph and Perpetual Calendar functions at the same time. IWC re-designed the sub-dials in Jump Hour style rather than rectangular apertures in order to fit the vintage inspired design. The model is offered with a silver plated dial accompanied with black hands and indices. Limited to 100 units only, Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month comes on a black alligator strap.
