Introduced in 2018 in pink or white gold case options with black dials, the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Outsize Date now comes with a new silver dial available in both versions.
Characterized by a simple design focusing on the extra-large date display, the new Saxonia comes in a 38.5mm diameter and 9.6mm high case. The case, which features sapphire crystals with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, can withstand 30 meters of water pressure.
The silver dial, which the brand calls Argenté, focuses on the large date window, the prominent feature of the model. The hands and indices in the dial, which are true to the traditions of the brand with their simple designs, are in gold suitable with the case material. The dial has a double-window date display at 12, and a small seconds counter at 6 o'clock.
The new model is powered by the in-house Caliber L086.8 movement. The automatic movement with a full-size rotor operates at a frequency of 3Hz (21.600vph) and offers 72 hours (3 days) power reserve when fully wound. The caliber, which features classic ALS details such as untreated German silver plates and hand-crafted balance cock, can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back.
The white gold model comes on a black alligator strap, while the pink gold version features a brown alligator leather strap. The straps are secured by standard buckles produced following the case material. The models, which will be available as of December, retails at € 26,300 /each (including 19% German VAT).
