Breitling, one of the masters of aviation-themed watches, is expanding its iconic Navitimer collection with a brand new model.
When Breitling introduced the Navitimer 1 B03 Rattrapante 45 in 2017, it offered one of the most enjoyable complications of luxury watchmaking to watch, the split-seconds chronograph, with a manufacture movement and supported its prestige among watchmakers with aviation-oriented models. This year, the brand is bringing its high complication timepiece to watch enthusiasts with an 18K rose gold case and the brand trademark cloud gray dial.
When you look at the dial of the Breitling Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45, it is not easy to take your eyes off it. The 18K red gold case is equipped with a slide rule calculator bezel, which was both a very useful feature for pilots in the early years of aviation and became the signature of this model family since the introduction of the original Navitimer in 1952. The sapphire crystal on the front is anti-reflective coated on both sides. The pusher that stops and restarts the split-second hand is embedded in the winding crown at 3 o'clock while the chronograph pushers are located on both sides of the crown. The sapphire crystal display case back allows the user to enjoy the movement.
The manufacture automatic movement Caliber B03 with two patents powers Breitling Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45. The split-seconds module added to the high-performance movement that provides a 70-hour power reserve when fully wound consists of 28 parts and is located between the base plate and the calendar mechanism. Thus, when the need for service or repair occurs, the watchmaker can easily remove the module as a single part. In addition to the split-seconds module, the movement also includes a date display and a 1/4 second chronograph function.
Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante 45 draws attention with its aesthetic details as well as its technical superiorities. Normally, the Navitimer dials feature the 'B' logo stylized with the anchor symbol that adorns the bottom of the chronograph hand. In this model, the logo is divided between two chronograph hands. The letter 'B' is combined with the red chronograph hand while the anchor part rests with the split second hand. Thus, the two parts of the logo are split into two when the split-second function is activated. They reunite when the function is not in use.
A black alligator strap and an 18K red gold buckle complement the Navitimer B03 Chronograph Rattrapante, which is undoubtedly the most elegant version of the Navitimer model family. The model is available with an MSRP of 30,110 CHF.
