Bell & Ross, an iconic French origin watchmaker with its aviation-oriented designs and models inspired by the gauges at the aircraft cockpits, was the guest of our Hands On corner with its Bell & Ross BR0394-BLU-ST/SCA model.
The BR-03 model platform, which is considered as the mid-size version of the iconic BR-XX collection, is preferred for the model. Measuring 42mm in diameter, the case provides a comfortable use. The stainless steel case, which is almost entirely satin brush finished, has a stylish attitude that overlaps with the "professional instrument" character of the product line. The case sports a scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and a solid stainless steel caseback at the rear side.
Water resistant to 100 meters, which is suitable for light water activities as well as daily use, the case sports chronograph pushers and the winding crown that are exclusively designed for the BR-XX concept.
Sun-Burst effect light blue surface is preferred for the model’s simply but functionally designed dial. Excluding the Arabic numeral hour markers at 12 and 6 o’clock, the dial features rhodium plated baton style indices and hands. The accents offer an excellent contrast with the dial color providing perfect legibility. The night-time visibility is also very effective thanks to the SuperLuminova phosphor material fillings. The dial features a pair of sub-dials at 3 and 9 o’clock and a date display located between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The model is powered by the Bell & Ross Caliber Ref. BR301 movement. Self-winding caliber beats at 28800vph and offers a 42 hour power reserve when fully wound.
Bell & Ross BR0394-BLU-ST/SCA is available with a blue calf leather strap or a black rubber strap. Thanks to its soft construction, the strap nicely balances the not so compact case and offers optimum wearing comfort. The strap is secured by a matt finish stainless steel tang buckle with B&R engraving.
