Renault Sport Formula 1 team announced their new racing car RS.17. To celebrate their collaboration with the Renault Sport Formula 1 team, Bell & Ross also introduced the new limited edition model BR03-94 RS17 exclusively for the occasion. The official launch of the new model, which will include the colors of the Renault Sport team, will be held in Baselworld 2017.
Prior to Baselworld 2016, Bell & Ross, which was a brand partner with Renault Sport, launched its BR-X1-RS16 model. The models that we met with skeleton dials last year have left their places with carbon dial models. Let’s take a closer look at the newest model that emerged as the end result of the work of two French brands.
The model which combines its square case inspired by the gauges on a plane cockpit with Formula 1 race car technology comes out as a perfect blend of aviation and motor sports.
The model with a 42mm matt black ceramic casket holds the familiar Bell & Ross lines. The water resistance value of the watch is set at 100 meters.
The new timepiece is offered in a black ceramic case featuring classic Bell & Ross lines with 42mm diameter. Bell & Ross BR 03-94 RS17, which is limited to 500 units, sports a sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating on the front side.
The yellow color used throughout the new model, comes from the official colors of the Renault Sport team. From the stopwatch start-stop button to the various parts of the dial, this yellow tone is shown. You can also see bright green and red tones as the other colors which are also used in the steering wheel of Formula 1 vehicles.
Unlike the past models’ dials, the new version takes the brand is one step closer to the spirit of Formula 1 with its carbon dial. Thanks to the contrast tones and SuperLuminova coating on the hands and indices, Bell & Ross BR 03-94 RS17 offers utmost readability under every possible occasion.
The new model is powered with the Bell & Ross Caliber Ref. BR301. 37 jeweled self-winding movement beats at 4Hz and offers 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The date display is placed between 4 and 5 o’clock position. The chronograph function is laid-out in classic Bi-Compax style.
Bell & Ross BR 03-94 RS17 comes with an extra durable black rubber strap. Black PVD material has been used in the buckle of the strap in order to be compatible with the case. I want to make a criticism about the strap; I would prefer the strap with the black carbon pattern and yellow detail as they used in the models announced last year, because I would not want to see the rubber strap used in the standard models on a special watch with limited run of 500 units only.
