French-based boutique manufacturer Bell & Ross has added a new version to its iconic model family inspired by the gauges in the cockpits of the aircraft. The new model, which is planned to be produced in a limited span of 250 units only, attracts attention with its materials and color palette arranged in accordance with the military theme.
Bell & Ross, which has become a prominent among the boutique manufacturers with its increasing number of fans every day, continues to keep this interest warm with more aviation and military-themed models. The new model, introduced under the Experimental Collection, carries details about the point where the brand has arrived in terms of both R & D and design.
The new model comes in a square-shaped case, which carried the brand among the iconic names of traditional luxury watchmaking. The case, which is based on the brands 45mm diameter platform, is manufactured from ultra-light HRT (High Resistance Titanium) alloy. Accompanied with black ceramic and rubber accents that suits with the military-theme perfectly, the case is equipped with an AR coated scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and a dark tinted sapphire crystal display case back on the rear side that is also in accordance with the model’s military character. Highlighting the model’s tactical appearance with all-satinated components, the case is water resistant to 100 meters / 10 bars, which is more than enough for a sports chronograph in daily use.
The dial of the model is also adorned with visual and functional details in line with the military theme. In the skeleton-style dial, the metal applique hour markers and hands are Super LumiNOVA C3 phosphor material applied. The sub-dial at 9 o’clock is shaped like a turbine blade which is another nice detail about the overall concept of the model. The date display window, which I believe is the only non-matching feature due to the plain white date disk, is present at 6 o’clock. Thanks to the matt finished surfaces and DLC coating applied to the components of the movement that are visible through the skeleton-style dial, the Tool Watch character of the model is moved to the fore.
Bell & Ross BR-X1 Military (Ref: BRX1-CE-TI-MIL) model is powered by Bell & Ross Caliber BR-313. 56 jewels self-winding chronograph movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power-reserve of 42 hours when fully wound. Thanks to the sapphire crystals on both sides and skeleton-style dial, the movement can be enjoyed in detail with its DLC coated components.
The model is offered on a black perforated rubber strap that promises a comfortable use with its fast drying design. The strap is secured with a Bell & Ross signed pin buckle manufactured from black PVD coated stainless steel.
