Bell & Ross, which is one of the special brands of the watchmaking industry with its unique designs, introduced the BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire model which takes the transparent concept a step further with its fascinating details.
Bell & Ross is one of the brands that are using sapphire crystal as an alternative material for watch cases among Richard Mille and Hublot. Their latest model, BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire, is the third masterpiece in this concept after the highly acclaimed BR-X1 Chronograph Tourbillon Sapphire and the ultra-thin BR-X2 Tourbillon Micro-Rotor.
The new model’s case measures 45mm in diameter. The case is composed of nine different components as the middle case, caseback, top, crystal and four bumpers that are all made of clear sapphire crystal and fixed by lateral and vertical screws. Water resistance rating for the case is 30 meters.
The model is powered by the Caliber BR.288. Hand-wound movement beats at 3Hz and offers an impressive power reserve of 100 hours when fully wound. The movement is actually based on the Caliber BR.255 which was designed to power the BR-X1 Tourbillon Chronograph. Unlike its predecessor, Caliber BR.288 offers a largely open-worked design which suits with the transparent concept nicely and reveals the Flying Tourbillon escapement from almost every possible angle creating a floating look. The hour and minute hand are placed right over the barrel at 12 o’clock while the Tourbillon is located at 6 o’clock.
Bell & Ross BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire comes on a transparent rubber strap with a Bell & Ross signed standard buckle. The new model is limited to 8 units only.
