Bell & Ross, known with its aviation-themed timepieces, introduced the new limited-edition model BR03-92 HUD.
The first use of the HUD (head-up display) took place in the British production Spitfire aircraft during World War II. More accurate hits could be made by calculating the difference between the target and bullet trail with the gyro-sight placed at the pilots' visual field. Today, with the HUD technology used in aviation and automotive, pilots/drivers can be informed about their vehicles or targets without taking their eyes off the road. Bell & Ross has adapted this technology, at least its name, to the new model to BR03-92 HUD.
The model, which comes in a matte black ceramic case measuring 42mm in diameter, has a general color theme of black and green. The second hand, placed on a green indicator disc, completes its lap every 60 seconds with the effect of scanning around the radar. Minute and hour hands also have green indices. The sapphire crystal covering the front of the watch is also green. Green-colored Super-LumiNOVA has been applied to all indices on the dial and the outer bezel, which makes you feel yourself on a military night flight with the BR03-92 HUD. The case is equipped with a solid case back and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
BR03-92 is powered by the Sellita SW300-1 based BR-CAL.302. Self-winding movement beats at 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound. 25.6mm movement can be partly enjoyed through the window in the model's dial at 4:30.
The model, which will be offered with black rubber and black synthetic fabrics, is expected to meet its fans in June 2020. Limited to 999 units only, the MSRP for the model is 3990,00 USD (US list).
