Blancpain focuses on its roots with the Villeret Extra-Plate model.
Villeret models are the best sellers of Blancpain for many years and are among the most symbolic series of the brand. The Villeret Extra-Plate model is also in harmony with the collection with its elegant and simple design. Balancing the timelessness and sense of place, this ultra-thin classic dress watch shows the simple beauty by showing only hours and minutes without the date and the second hand.
The model comes in a 40mm diameter and 7.39mm thick case available in mirror-polished stainless steel or 18K red gold. Let me note that this 7.39mm thick case is even thinner than the current Villeret Ultra-Plate editions. The case is water resistant to 30 meters only. 18K red gold version comes with an eggshell white dial while the stainless steel version is equipped with a silvery dial. Gold tone Roman numeral indices are accompanied with openwork leaf hands.
The Blancpain Villeret Extra-Plate is powered by the hand-wound Caliber 11A4B. This new movement is based on the Ref. 1150 movement, manufactured by Frédéric Piguet, which is supplied to many important watch brands. Its two barrels coupled in series can store 95 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The power reserve indicator, which is a very useful feature for manual-winding watches, can easily be seen through the transparent case back. Decorations on the movement such as Cotes de Genève stripes, beveling and perlage support the elegance of the watch.
The red gold version of Blancpain Villeret Extra Plate is offered on a brown alligator strap and the stainless steel version is complemented by a black crocodile leather strap. The straps are secured by pin buckles. Both models are also available with mesh bracelets as well.
