Audemars Piguet enriches its young modern family Code 11.59 collection with a new model featuring a Flying Tourbillon escapement.
Code 11.59, the youngest collection of the long-established brand, is once again meeting watch lovers with a new model. Equipped with the Flying Tourbillon, one of the eye-catching complications of Haute Horlogerie, the new model is appreciated for its modern materials as well as its simple design.
The stylish model comes with a 41mm diameter and 11.8mm high case. Black ceramic is used in the middle body of the elegant case, which has lugs, bezel, and case back components made of 18K white gold material. The case, which is equipped with sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating on both sides, offers resistance to water pressure only up to 20 meters.
Under the double-domed sapphire crystal on the front, there is a glossy black dial. Bringing to mind once again how beautiful simplicity can be, the dial adds an elegant and mysterious atmosphere to the model with its deep black tone given by the onyx material. There are no hour markers on the dial, designed and produced by Someco, one of the long-term partners of AP, which has been operating since 1966. Balancing the model's complex case with its simplicity, the dial features a Flying Tourbillon escapement at 6 o'clock. The minute scale, which is placed on the outside of the elegant dial and divided into 5-minute intervals, allows the time to be read accurately.
The new model is powered by the Caliber AP 2950 movement. The Flying Tourbillon automatic movement, which we saw in the Royal Oak model, which was introduced in 2018, consists of 270 components. Working at a frequency of 3Hz (21,600vph), the movement offers a power reserve time of up to 65 hours when fully wound.
The model, which comes with a black rubber-coated strap and an AP signed 18K folding clasp, is offered for sale with a sticker price of CHF 146,700 (excluding taxes).
