The Italian brand Bulgari is the guest of our Hands On corner with the new version of its first complication model designed for women Serpenti Incantati Skeleton Tourbillon Lumière introduced at Baselworld 2017.
The model, which is a member of the brand’s iconic Serpenti Collection, has a very eye-catching appearance. The model that is also the first complication model designed specifically for the women’s collection, presents the symbolic feature of the Serpenti collection snake motif not wrapped around the wrist, but wrapped around the case this time.
The model’s skeleton-designed dial has a well-balanced asymmetry. On the bottom of the dial, the Tourbillon escapement is attached with a ring-shaped piece with hour and minute markers to display the time. Thanks to the skeleton style of the timepiece, almost every aspect of the movement can be enjoyed. The power reserve indicator is located at the back side of the movement.

The new model is powered by the Caliber Ref. BVL 208 which is designed and manufactured entirely by Bulgari. The hand winding movement operates at 3Hz and offers 64 hours of power reserve when fully wound. Despite the Tourbillon complication, the movement contains 22 jewels only.
The model is offered in an 18K pink gold case measuring 41mm in diameter and 8.9mm thick. The case is decorated with 225 brilliant cut diamonds (~ 2.61 cts) and a ruby (~0.14ct). It is water resistant to 30 meters.
The new model is offered on a brown alligator strap which is secured by an 18K pink gold folding clasp set with 28 diamonds (~0.28 cts).
Bulgari Serpenti Incantati Skeleton Tourbillon Lumière 18K Pink Gold comes in a limited span of 50 units only. There is an 18K white gold version as well with a limited production of 30 pieces.
