Cartier Pebble 50th Anniversary Limited Edition

Cartier Pebble 50th Anniversary Limited Edition

Cartier introduced the re-issue version of its style icon model: Pebble.

Cartier is a brand that has made a mark in the glittering world of luxury with every single design. Behind every Cartier, from Tank to Santos, Panthere to Ballon and Pasha, there are extraordinary stories that carry the legacy of the brand. Some special models signed by Cartier throughout its history have already managed to become legends of today's watch world. Tonneau, Cintree, Cloche, Crash, Asymetrique, Chinoise and many more. Now we are here with the reproduction of a legend from the past. Introducing Cartier Pebble.

Cartier Pebble will go on sale next month and only 150 of this special model will be produced. The list price of the new model, which will be introduced exclusively for the 50th anniversary of the launch of the first Pebble model, is 40,800 GBP. No complications. There are no precious stones. No metal bracelet. Only gold and the genius of the maison.

Pebble, as the name suggests, looks like a perfect pebble formed by water eroding over the years. The square dial placed at an angle of 45 degrees inside the round-shaped case brings a simple yet unique look to watch lovers.

The interesting thing is that Pebble and Crash weren't such resounding models in their early years. Changing and evolving tastes and wildly shifting customer expectations have made many Cartiers, which were not so successful at the time, among the most desired timepieces today. I am sure that most of the 150 people who will own the Pebble model are already chosen.

The new Pebble comes in a 36mm diameter case made of 18K yellow gold. The case, dominated by soft lines, consists of completely polished surfaces. The case, which has a horizontally placed sapphire crystal on the front, houses the crown decorated with a cabochon-cut sapphire.

The beige opal dial is accompanied by Roman numeral indices and blued hands. Standing out with its simplicity, the dial does not contain any other function other than the hour and minute, and it does not include any text other than the Cartier inscription.

Equipped with the Piaget 430P-based, hand-wound Caliber 430C with a power reserve of 40 hours, the model is complemented by a beige calf leather strap and an 18K yellow gold ardillon buckle.

I hope that the "special" models exhibited by Cartier under the roof of Privee enter our lives more frequently and with many examples. Just like Pebble. I think the watch world still needs such successful reproductions.
