Doxa, which is one the brands that are highly acclaimed especially by the classic dive watch fans, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its legendary Sub model family that has its own fan base with its original and Retro design. To mark this special occasion, the brand introduced a new limited edition version of its Sub 300 Searambler model that is inspired by a prototype model from the brand’s archives.

The new model comes in a classic Searambler style case measuring 42mm in diameter and 12.4mm in height. The case is equipped with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal that is domed to mimic the hesalite crystal on the original version and a signed solid stainless steel case back. Thanks to its signature elliptical form and the relatively small dial, the case looks and wears a click smaller than 42mm. Water resistant to 300 meters / 30 bars, the case also featured the brand’s signature serrated style uni-directional diving bezel.

The most important point that separates this new model from other Searambler versions in the collection is its silver dial, which is also the source of the Silver Lung name. The dial, which houses typical Doxa design details, carries the emblem of the Aqua Lung diving organization, founded by the famous French ocean scientist Jacques Cousteau. Unlike the previous versions produced with the Aqua Lung logo up to now, this model is the first model to be designed with a silver dial.

The new model is powered by the reliable ETA 2824 self-winding movement, which we are familiar from many different Swiss automatics. 25 jewels COSC certified movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 38 hours, slightly below average in today’s standards, when fully wound.
